In the 18 years that the people had begun to return to Jerusalem they
had not begun work on the temple. The Temple of Solomon that had been
built was destroyed in the fall of Jerusalem. Without the temple,
worship and connection with God was not possible for the people of the
nation. When the people returned to Jerusalem, they were expected to
begin construction on the temple so that God could be worshipped and
glorified. They were so preoccupied with their own lives that they
ignored building the temple.
THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT
Don't you think that this world would be a happier place if we would
live by the Sermon on the Mount?" Of course it would. The same could be
said about living according to the Ten Commandments. The problem is, NO
ONE CAN LIVE ACCORDING TO THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OR SERMON ON THE MOUNT
TODAY! (cf. 5:20, 27-30, 42, 48; 7:21-23).
ALBERTO RIVERA
Biography. Rivera was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Canary
Islands, Spain. He is most notable for his claims about his time as a
Catholic priest and the inner workings of the Catholic Church. Most of
these claims are fiercely disputed by the Catholic Church and others. An
exposé by Gary Metz in Cornerstone magazine as well as another one in
Christianity Today[2] questioned many of Rivera's claims about his life
and claimed that he was a fraud. The two conflicting versions are
summarized below.
SALVATION BY FAITH
All the blessings which God hath bestowed upon man are of his mere
grace, bounty, or favour; his free, undeserved favour; favour altogether
undeserved; man having no claim to the least of his mercies. It was
free grace that "formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into
him a living soul," and stamped on that soul the image of God, and "put
all things under his feet." The same free grace continues to us, at
this day, life, and breath, and all things. For there is nothing we are,
or have, or do, which can deserve the least thing at God's hand. "All
our works, Thou, O God, hast wrought in us." These, therefore, are so
many more instances of free mercy: and whatever righteousness may be
found in man, this is also the gift of God.
A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY
And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they
came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they
desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not
ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Heb. 11:15, 16
THE VEIL WILL BE DRAWN ASIDE
Now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face. 1 Cor. 13:12
There, when the veil that darkens our vision shall be removed, and our eyes shall behold that world of beauty of which we now catch glimpses through the microscope; when we look on the glories of the heavens, now scanned afar through the telescope; when, the blight of sin removed, the whole earth shall appear "in the beauty of the Lord our God," what a field will be open to our study!

THE RENEWED HEART LOVES AS CHRIST LOVED
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. John 13:34.
Jesus says, "Love one another as I have loved you." Love is not simply an impulse, a transitory emotion, dependent upon circumstances; it is a living principle, a permanent power.

GOD IS NEAR TO ALL THAT CALL UPON HIM
The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. Ps. 145:18.
God is pleased when we keep our faces turned toward the Sun of Righteousness.... When we are in trouble and pressed down with anxieties, the Lord is near, and He bids us cast all our care upon Him, because He cares for us. . . .

WE ARE TAKE TIME TO THINK ABOUT GOD
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Ps. 46:10.
RECONCILED TO GOD BY CHRIST’S DEAT
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of
his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Rom. 5:10.
The cross is invested with a power that language cannot express. Christ’s sacrifice in behalf of the human race puts to shame our meager efforts and methods to meet and uplift humanity, to help sinful men and women to find Jesus.

WE SHALL INHERIT ALL THINGS
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son (daughter). Rev. 21:7.
In order to inherit all things, we must resist and overcome sin.
In order to inherit all things, we must resist and overcome sin.
PERPETUITY OF THE SABBATH COMMANDMENT
There are no hints in the Old Testament that the Sabbath commandment, as
preserved in the Decalogue, was to be terminated or modified. Yet,
Christianity is seriously divided concerning the validity of the Sabbath
commandment for Christian believers. Adventists believe that there is
no clear evidence in the New Testament to support the idea that biblical
Sabbath keeping was changed to Sunday observance. We recognize that the
change did take place soon after the apostolic era, but an examination
of the New Testament passages dealing with the subject reveals that the
Sabbath commandment was observed in the apostolic church.
GROWTH IN GRACE BEGINS AT HOME
The Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Ps. 84:11
There are many who do not grow in grace because they fail of cultivating home religion.
The members of the family are to show that they are in constant possession of a power received from Christ. They are to improve in every habit and practice, thus showing that they keep constantly before them what it means to be a Christian.

IN CHRIST THERE IS STRENGTH
Let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me. Isa. 27:5
The enemy cannot overcome the humble learner of Christ, the one who walks prayerfully before the Lord. Christ interposes Himself as a shelter, a retreat, from the assaults of the wicked one. The promise is given, “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” . . .

CHRIST PRESENT ME WITH A CROWN AND HARP
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the
Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me
only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Tim. 4:8
Before entering the city of God the Saviour bestows upon His followers the emblems of victory and invests them with the insignia of their royal state. The glittering ranks are drawn up in the form of a hollow square about their King, whose form rises in majesty high above saint and angel, whose countenance beams upon them full of benignant love.

DOES FAITH CANCEL OBEDIENCE
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. Rom. 3:31.
Faith is not an opiate, but a stimulant. Looking to Calvary will not quiet your soul into nonperformance of duty, but will create faith that will work, purifying the soul from all selfishness.

A WELCOME TO THE HEAVENLY HOME
Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. Isa. 26:2.
The life on earth is the beginning of the life in heaven. We are children of the heavenly King, members of the royal family, heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ. The mansions Jesus has gone to prepare are to receive only those who are true, who are pure, who love and obey His words.

LET JESUS LEAD
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6.
Oh, that we who are pilgrims and strangers in this foreign country . . . might comprehend Christ, the way, the truth, and the life. He says, “No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” The path He has marked out is so plain and distinct that the veriest sinner, loaded with guilt, need not miss his way.

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matt. 5:16. To
every soul born into Christ’s kingdom is given a solemn charge, Let
your light so shine before men that they, by seeing your good works,
shall glorify your Father which is in heaven. Pour forth upon your
neighbors the rich rays of light received from the Sun of Righteousness;
THE GIFT OF THE SPIRIT
When Christ gave His disciples the promise of the Spirit, He was nearing
the close of His earthly ministry. He was standing in the shadow of the
cross, with a full realization of the load of guilt that was to rest
upon Him as the Sin Bearer. Before offering Himself as the sacrificial
victim, He instructed His disciples regarding a most essential and
complete gift which He was to bestow upon His followers--the gift that
would bring within their reach the boundless resources of His grace. "I
will pray the Father," He said,
OUR DIVINE RED
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God. Phil. 2:6.
Jesus Christ “counted it not a thing to be grasped to be equal with God.” Because divinity alone could be efficacious in the restoration of man from the poisonous bruise of the serpent, God Himself, in His only begotten Son, assumed human nature, and in the weakness of human nature sustained the character of God, vindicated His holy law in every particular,

AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOE
As it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. Luke 17:26.
I was shown that a terrible condition of things exists in our world. The angel of mercy is folding her wings, ready to depart. . . . The law of God is made void. We see and hear of confusion and perplexity, want and famine, earthquakes and floods; terrible outrages will be committed by men; passion, not reason, bears sway. THE LUST FOR NAKEDNESS
Whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matt. 5:28.
Many of the young are eager for books. They read everything they can obtain. Exciting love stories and impure pictures have a corrupting influence. Novels are eagerly perused by many, and, as the result, their imagination becomes defiled. In the cars, photographs of females in a state of nudity are frequently circulated for sale. These disgusting pictures are . . . hung upon the walls of those who deal in engravings.

ARMED CONFLICTIN THE LAST DAY
Soon grievous troubles will rise among the nations-- trouble that will
not cease until Jesus comes. As never before we need to press together,
serving Him who has prepared His throne in the heavens and whose kingdom
ruleth over all. God has not forsaken His people, and our strength lies
in not forsaking Him.
HEALING CAN BE FROM THE DEVIL
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8.
The fallacies of Satan are now being multiplied, and those who swerve from the path of truth will lose their bearings. Having nothing to which to anchor, they will drift from one delusion to another, blown about by the winds of strange doctrines. Satan has come down with great power. Many will be deceived by his miracles.

THE SIGN TO LEAVE LARGE CITIES
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by
Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him
understand:) then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains.
Matt. 24:15, 16.
HONEST BUSINESS DEALINGS
There is no branch of legitimate business for which the Bible does not
afford an essential preparation. Its principles of diligence, honesty,
thrift, temperance, and purity are the secret of true success.
These principles, as set forth in the book of Proverbs, constitute a treasury of practical wisdom. Where can the merchant, the artisan, the director of men in any department of business, find better maxims for himself or for his employees than are found in these words of the wise man:

Contemplation and Meditation Served to Enrich with Wisdom and Piety
In contemplation of God and His works the faculties of David's mind and
heart were developing and strengthening for the work of his afterlife.
He was daily coming into a more intimate communion with God. His mind
was constantly penetrating into new depths for fresh themes to inspire
his song and to wake the music of his harp. The rich melody of his voice
poured out upon the air, echoed from the hills as if responsive to the
rejoicing of the angels' songs in heaven.
TWO CLASSED OF CHRISTIOANS
I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly
wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. Rev. 13:3.
In homage to the Papacy the United States will not be alone. The influence of Rome in the countries that once acknowledged her dominion, is still far from being destroyed.
In the last conflict the Sabbath will be the special point of controversy throughout all Christendom. Secular rulers and religious leaders will unite to enforce the observance of the Sunday;

CHRIST OBJECT LESSON
The gospel of Christ is a blessing that all may possess. The poorest are
as well able as the richest to purchase salvation; for no amount of
worldly wealth can secure it. It is obtained by willing obedience, by
giving ourselves to Christ as His own purchased possession. Education,
even of the highest class, cannot of itself bring a man nearer to God.
PERSECUTED FOR CHRIST’S SAKE
All that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 2 Tim. 3:12.
As Christ was hated without cause, so will His people be hated because they are obedient to the commandments of God. If He who was pure, holy, and undefiled, who did good and only good in our world, was treated as a base criminal and condemned to death, His disciples must expect but similar treatment, however faultless may be their life and blameless their character.

GOSPEL RELIGION
Gospel religion is Christ in the life--a living, active principle. It is
the grace of Christ revealed in character and wrought out in good
works. The principles of the gospel cannot be disconnected from any
department of practical life. Every line of Christian experience and
labor is to be a representation of the life of Christ.
THE WRITTEN WORD THAT A KNOWLEDGE OF GOD IS MOST CLEARLY REVEALED TO MAN
The great storehouse of truth is the word of God--the written word, the
book of nature, and the book of experience in God's dealing with human
life. Here are the treasures from which Christ's workers are to draw. In
the search after truth they are to depend upon God, not upon human
intelligences, the great men whose wisdom is foolishness with God.
Through His own appointed channels the Lord will impart a knowledge of
Himself to every seeker.
THE CHRISTIAN'S BADGE
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we
ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Eph. 3:20.
The Lord is waiting to manifest through His people His grace and power. But He requires that those who engage in His service shall keep their minds ever directed to Him. Every day they should have time for reading the Word of God and for prayer. . . .

THE LOST SHEEP
When one who has wandered far in sin seeks to return to God, he will
encounter criticism and distrust. There are those who will doubt whether
his repentance is genuine, or will whisper, "He has no stability; I do
not believe that he will hold out." These persons are doing not the work
of God but the work of Satan, who is the accuser of the brethren.
Through their criticisms the wicked one hopes to discourage that soul,
and to drive him still farther from hope and from God. Let the repenting
sinner contemplate the rejoicing in heaven over the return of the one
that was lost. Let him rest in the love of God and in no case be
disheartened by the scorn and suspicion of the Pharisees.
PRAISE GOD
I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord, and the praises of
the Lord, according to all that the Lord hath bestowed on us, and the
great goodness toward the house of Israel. Isa. 63:7.
When a sense of the loving-kindness of God is constantly refreshing the soul, it will be revealed in the countenance by an expression of peace and joy. It will be manifest in the words and works. And the generous, holy Spirit of Christ, working upon the heart, will yield in the life a converting influence upon others. . . .

DO NOT BECOME BLIND TO THE CHARACTER OF SIN
Those who set themselves against the government of God have entered into
an alliance with the archapostate, and he will exercise his power and
cunning to captivate the senses and mislead the understanding. He will
cause everything to appear in a false light. Like our first parents,
those who are under his bewitching spell see only the great benefits to
be received by transgression.
CHRIST RECOGNIZED NO VIRTUE IN LINEAGE
The Lord had made the Jews the depositaries of sacred truth. He had
appointed them stewards of His grace. He had given them every spiritual
and temporal advantage, and He called upon them to impart these
blessings. Special instruction had been given them in regard to their
treatment of their brethren who had fallen into decay, of the stranger
within their gates, and of the poor among them. They were not to seek to
gain everything for their own advantage, but were to remember those in
need and share with them.
STRENGTH AND GRACE SUFFICIENT FOR YOUR NEEDS
He said, "Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: but
whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never
thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of
water springing up into everlasting life."
THOUGHTS FROM THE MOUNT OF BLESSINGS
The sin that leads to the most unhappy results is the cold, critical,
unforgiving spirit that characterizes Pharisaism. When the religious
experience is devoid of love, Jesus is not there; the sunshine of His
presence is not there. No busy activity or Christless zeal can supply
the lack. There may be a wonderful keenness of perception to discover
the defects of others; but to everyone who indulges this spirit, Jesus
says, "Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and
then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's
eye." He who is guilty of wrong is the first to suspect wrong.
TO OBEY BETTER THAN SACRIFICE
In deciding upon any course of action we are not to ask whether we can
see that harm will result from it, but whether it is in keeping with the
will of God. "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man; but the
end thereof are the ways of death." Proverbs 14:12. "To obey is better
than sacrifice." The sacrificial offerings were in themselves of no
value in the sight of God. They were designed to express on the part of
the offerer penitence for sin and faith in Christ and to pledge future
obedience to the law of God. But without penitence, faith, and an
obedient heart, the offerings were worthless.

Does the Bible allow Christians to worship on Sunday?
In the Old Testament, God stated, "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you," (Exodus 20:8-10, NASB). It was the custom of the Jews to come together on the Sabbath, which is Saturday, cease work, and worship God. Jesus went to the synagogue on Saturday to teach (Matt. 12:9; John 18:20) as did the apostle Paul (Acts 17:2; 18:4). So, if in the Old Testament we are commanded to keep the Sabbath and in the New Testament we see Jews, Jesus, and the apostles doing the same thing, then why do we worship on Sunday?
What does Seventh Day Adventism teach?
Affirmations :
1. The Bible is inspired and the word of God.
2. Trinitarian: The Father, Son, Holy Spirit are all one God in three persons.
3. Jesus is God and has always existed with the Father.
4. The Holy Spirit is a person.
The History of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
Modern Seventh Day Adventism traces its origins back to the early 1800's to Mr. William Miller (1782-1849) of Low Hampton, New York. Mr. Miller had converted from deism to Christianity in 1816 and became a Baptist. He was an avid reader, dedicated to God's word, and sought to reconcile apparent biblical difficulties raised by deists. He relied heavily on the Cruden's Concordance in his studies and developed a focus on the imminent return of Jesus. He began preaching at the age of 50.
Seventh-day Adventist Church
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a Protestant Christian denomination distinguished by its observance of Saturday, the original seventh day of the Judeo-Christian week, as the Sabbath, and by its emphasis on the imminent second coming (Advent) of Jesus Christ. The denomination grew out of the Millerite movement in the United States during the middle part of the 19th century and was formally established in 1863. Among its founders was Ellen G. White, whose extensive writings are still held in high regard by the church today.
